A new role has been taken on by this former Alpine F1 boss.
Former Alpine F1 team principal Otmar Szafnauer is now the new CEO and managing partner at Van Amersfoort Racing. Szafnauer, with a rich background in motorsport and F1, recently served as the team boss at Alpine before leaving during the 2023 season. Prior to Alpine, Szafnauer played a key role in the success of the Force India team and later the Racing Point and Aston Martin outfits. In his new role at Van Amersfoort Racing, Szafnauer will oversee performance in various junior categories, including Formula 2 and Formula 3. Szafnauer expressed excitement to work with the team and lead its next phase of development, while Van Amersfoort Racing’s team principal Brad Joyce praised Szafnauer’s experience, stating that it strengthens the team’s long-term vision.
